How long does each therapy session take?

For adolescents and young adults, sessions are typically 60 minutes. However, should you require longer sessions, 75 and 90 minute sessions are available.

What if I would like my family members involved or updated?

We take confidentially and privacy very seriously here at Mind Over Maza. However, if you request for your parents or a loved one to be part of the therapeutic process, you will be required to fill in a consent form to release information to your chosen person.

Do I need my parents permissions to attend?

If you are over the age of 18 then you are the age of consent and do not need your parents permission to reach out or attend a session.

Are you able to liaise with my clinical care team?

If you have a psychiatrist or any other clinician on your clinical care team, we highly advise for open communication between clinicians to ensure your treatment is smooth and consistent. You may fill in a consent of release form so that Rachel can speak to your chosen clinician. Depending on your preferences and needs, you may also select the type of information shared including whether you would like notes to be shared.

How frequent do the sessions have to be?

Most sessions run on a weekly basis. However, for more severe symptoms or concerns, sessions can run twice a week. The eventual goal of therapy is for you to have gained all the skills they need to manage on your own. Henceforth, once improvement and stability is noted, Rachel and yourself will work towards gradually reducing frequency of sessions to fortnightly, monthly and eventually, just occasional catch ups!
